AMPLIFEST 2016: HOPE DRONE

Despite their relative youth as a band, the border between being promising and being a certainty has long been crossed by Hope Drone. Cloak of Ash, their debut for Relapse, is an 80 minutes long tour-de-force throughout the post-black metal and doom realms, with the Australian outfit interlocking melody and sheer weight in a fistfight where both come out victorious, always with and underlying beauty lurking behind all the density and bleakness. In a live setting, Hope Drone promise to further heighten this intensity, which we should confirm first hand on August 21, Sunday, when we witness their Portuguese debut at Amplifest.
