AMPLIFEST 2014: SWANS

Looking at the slow, barbaric and suffocating marches of their industrial beginnings, at the opressive folk-rock albums of their nineties career and at the overwhelming orchestrations released after the band’s rebirth in 2010, one can only realize that Swans are an unparalleled entity in the history of music. Captained by the intemperate mind of Michael Gira, who leads the band on stage like a manic conductor possessed by a superior unknown energy, and with the new album To Be Kind still boiling in their hands, Swans will release their majestic force over the Amplifest stage. A Swans show resembles a hundred runaway trains throbbing in ecstasy and running through our body – and in October the departure will be at Hard Club in Porto.

Capitaneados pela mente intempestiva de Michael Gira, que em palco conduz a banda como um maestro possuído por uma energia superior e desconhecida, e com o novo disco To Be Kind ainda a ferver-lhes nas mãos, os Swans soltarão a sua majestosa força sobre o palco do Amplifest. Um concerto dos Swans assemelha-se a uma centena de comboios desgovernados a atravessar-nos o corpo num êxtase latejante – e em Outubro o Hard Club será a estação de partida.
