AMPLIFEST 2016: PRURIENT

The most infamous of all of Dominick Fernow’s many alter egos, Prurient is also the one that holds the most destructive power. Abrasive, confrontational and uncomfortable, Prurient’s artistic output has shifted from the raw waves of noise and static of its earlier years to something way more contrasting, with the latest release Frozen Niagara Falls – which was put out by Profound Lore Records – showing beautiful synth lines and even acousting guitars being allowed to shed a faint light amongst the inferno of Fernow’s signature coarse electronics. Prurient’s much anticipated and long overdue debut appearance in Portugal is now set for August 21st, Sunday, at Amplifest 2016.

O mais reconhecido de todos os alter egos de Dominick Fernow, Prurient é também aquele que detém maior potencial destrutivo. Abrasivo e fixado no confronto e no desconforto, o trabalho de Prurient progrediu a partir dos monólitos de noise e estática dos primeiros lançamentos para algo muito mais contrastante, permitindo que, no recente Frozen Niagara Falls, disco carimbado pela Profound Lore Records, harmoniosos sintetizadores e até guitarras acústicas façam brilhar uma tímida luz sobre o inferno electrónico de Fernow. A desde há muito devida estreia de Prurient em solo português está agendada para o Amplifest 2016, e acontecerá na noite de 21 de Agosto, Domingo.
