BIG|BRAVE were born different. With minimal fuss, like a ghost wandering through shadows, they have already amassed almost two handfuls of records in their trunk – one of them a sublime collaboration with The Body – and none of them really sound like one another. There are many conversations about reinventing heavy music in the current musical climate, but the truth is that the Canadian trio has been doing exactly that for a decade now, inventing feelings and textures that don’t seem to fit anywhere else and keep being dropped in the no man’s land between rock, metal and folk. Their most recent album, “nature morte”, is at the same time one of the murkiest and raw they’ve ever recorded, but also one of the most expansive and dynamic ones. It will be a pleasure to receive one of the most exciting and restless bands in activity today.
