Sure, NECRØ’s debut EP, fittingly titled “Death Beats”, is excellent, easily rising above as a breath of fresh air in the current ambient/darkwave scene. But even without those six enveloping and obscure tracks that make it up, it would have been a no brainer decision to bet on the Lisbon duo – with João Vairinhos (Day Of The Dead, LÖBO, plus his respectable solo career) and Sara Inglês (Wildnorthe) behind the machinery, it was obvious to any follower of the Portuguese underground that this was going to be special. And this is only the beginning…
