Em 2016, celebramos dez anos de Amplificasom, mais de 400 concertos e tantas outras iniciativas que, mais do que fazer acontecer, temos inscrito permanentemente no nosso ADN — recordações que fazem parte de quem somos hoje e que nos servem de motivação para alinhar mais memórias, para concretizar mais sonhos ao poder trabalhar com artistas que respeitamos e admiramos verdadeira e genuinamente.

Mas 2016 será, tambem, o ano do sexto Amplifest, o encerrar de um ciclo para um evento que não está refém de datas, de cartazes, de localidade; o Amplifest não é um festival, nem uma fórmula, nem, tampouco, é pautado por previsibilidade. O Amplifest é uma experiência que vive da força, importância e relevância dos artistas envolvidos e da sua capacidade de trazer o nosso e vosso entusiasmo à flor da pele em cada momento que protagonizam; o Amplifest é uma experiência para o espírito curioso, onde a única barreira é o dogma, algo que procuramos derrubar a cada novo esforço. Não saberemos garantir que vida terá o Amplifest dentro de dois anos, mas sabemos, com toda a certeza, que esta, a sexta, será a melhor edição e um momento de superação, do qual só tiraremos a mente, o corpo e a alma depois do derradeiro riff dos Neurosis.

Por agora, começam os primeiros abalos e a ebulição de ideias — o alinhamento, como sempre, será escolhido a dedo, com ecletismo e sem olhar a fronteiras; uma erupção que moldará geografias e genealogias à medida que se for alastrando. Lembrem-se: das cinzas do que deixámos para trás, renasceram sempre novas e mais fortes edições.

A nova erupção acontece no fim-de-semana de 20 e 21 de Agosto, no Porto, com o magma a arder no Hard Club – mas a experiência estende-se aos dias 19 e 22.

Neurosis channel the most primal elements of the human condition through their cathartic, monolithic music. Owners of an extensive and essential discography crafted along a career that spans three decades, Neurosis are also renowned for their transcendental and decimating, almost religious, live performances; and, on their much anticipated first time ever in Portugal, we’ll be able to witness Neurosis unleash their unearthly power at the stage we always dreamed of: Amplifest 2016.

In 2016, we celebrate ten years of Amplificasom, with more than 400 concerts and many other initiatives; rather than just having made those happen, we have inscribed them permanently in our DNA – these memories are part of who we are today and give us motivation to create even more memories, to realize more dreams by being able to work with artists who we truly and genuinely admire and respect.

But 2016 will also be the year of the sixth Amplifest; the end of a cycle for an event that is not hostage of any date, lineup or place; Amplifest is not a festival, not a formula and not predictable. Amplifest is an experience that lives on the strength, importance and relevance of the artists involved and their ability to bring our and your enthusiasm to the surface in every moment they are on stage; Amplifest is an experience for the curious mind, where the only barrier is the dogma, something that we try to take down with every new effort. We do not know what will Amplifest be within two years, but we know, for sure, that the six edition will be the best to date and a moment of overcoming, from which we will only draw our minds, bodies and souls from after the last Neurosis’ riff.

For now, the first tremors are happening and ideas are boiling – the lineup, as always, will be handpicked, with eclecticism and without regard to any borders; an eruption that will shape geographies and genealogies as it sprawls. Remember, from the ashes of what we left behind, new and stronger editions have always reborn.

The new eruption happens at the weekend of 20 and August 21 in Porto, with the magma burning at Hard Club – but the experience extends from August 19 to 22.
