Os norte-americanos NOTHING nasceram em berço punk, mas foi com a fórmula que criaram para o primeiro trabalho de longa duração Guilty of Everything, onde o impressionismo decibélico do shoegaze se encontra com o rock alternativo da década de 90, que chegaram às bocas e aos ouvidos do mundo melómano. Torna-se desnecessário referir pormenores sobre os infortúnios pessoais dos membros dos NOTHING para percebermos que a sua música é, primariamente, um veículo de catarse e de redenção. Tired of Tomorrow, o novo disco que, tal como Guilty of Everything, carrega o selo da incontornável editora Relapse, será o mote para a estreia dos NOTHING em Portugal – acontecerá nos próximos dias 7 e 8 de Outubro, no Musicbox (Lisboa) e Cave 45 (Porto), respectivamente.

NOTHING come from a punk background, but it was the formula created for the first LP Guilty of Everything, in which the impressionist soundscapes of shoegaze meet 90s alt-rock, that made them recognized by music aficionados all over the world. Despite these being public, it is unnecessary to mention the personal misfortunes of the band members to realize that their music is, primarily, a vehicle for catharsis and redemption. Tired of Tomorrow, the new record which, just like Guilty of Everything, was released on Relapse Records, will be the main theme for NOTHING’s debut in Portugal – taking place in the coming days of 7 and 8 October in Musicbox (Lisbon) and Cave 45 (Porto), respectively.

RICARDO REMÉDIO:
A exploração dos recantos mais escuros da electrónica e do industrial estará também em cartaz: em ambas as datas, os NOTHING serão acompanhados por Ricardo Remédio, produtor lisboeta que assinava anteriormente como RA e que é também a figura principal dos recém-regressados doomsters LÖBO. Natureza Morta, a aguardada estreia em nome próprio de Ricardo Remédio, foi produzido por Daniel O’Sullivan (Ulver, Mothlite) e terá nestas datas as suas primeiras apresentações em Portugal.

An exploration of the darkest corners of industrial and electronic music will also be on display: on both dates, NOTHING will be supported by Ricardo Remédio, the Lisbon producer previously known as RA and who’s also leader of the newly regrouped doomsters LÖBO. Natureza Morta, his long-awaited debut, was produced by Daniel O’Sullivan (Ulver, Mothlite) and will be presented first-hand in these shows.

Tired of Tomorrow has been my go-to warm-weather record, a collection that sounds happy, and more importantly comforting, even when you know, as you always did, that there’s no point in going on, but that we all do anyhow. – Pitchfork 8/10

There’s no romance on this album. Nothing shine a stark white light on reality. As they always have. – Drowned in Sound 9/10

Whilst no-one wishes further misfortune on NOTHING, Tired of Tomorrow proves they’ve learnt how to make the most of it and turn it into something dark, but beautiful. – The Line of Best Fit 7/10
