Scott´s statement:

I have been building toward this tour from the first time I set foot onstage as a solo artist, I have been wanting to bring the songs to this stage of developement and present them to people in the live setting. The Road Home is wholly different experience then seeing me preform these songs as a solo artist, the flesh in them is alive, the heart beats in unison, as we are truly 3 men of similar pain and understanding.

Noah (Neurosis), who is a member of The Road Home, says about the upcoming tour:

I’ve been creating music with Scott for more than 20 years, as Neurosis, Tribes of Neurot, Blood and Time and now The Road Home. When we set out to record the new album, The Forgiven Ghost in Me, the river of ideas that the songs presented was deep and strong. We developed the songs in a way that is both clear and crafted, adding ornamentation and dynamics but never at the cost of the emotional core. Performing them with him and Greg Dale has been personally very moving and gratifying. I’m looking forward to traveling across Europe, far and wide, and presenting this music. This is music that has grown straight from the root of Scott Kelly’s heart.

A estreia, em 2011, de Scott Kelly em Portugal constituiu um acontecimento memorável não apenas para o público presente mas igualmente para o próprio frontman dos Neurosis, que afirmou publicamente que Portugal o presenteara com as maiores e mais respeitadoras audiências com que já se havia deparado na sua incursão a solo pelos palcos. Será então nessa vibração positiva que regressará às salas portuguesas para apresentar a sua folk esparsa e tingida de negro, desta vez sob o formato Scott Kelly and The Road Home, no qual é acompanhado por Noah Landis (também membro dos Neurosis) e Gregory James Dale. Com o disco The Forgiven Ghost In Me como capítulo mais recente, as salas do Passos Manuel e da ZDB vestir-se-ão de silêncio para receber as suas canções nos dias 11 e 12 de Fevereiro, respectivamente.

Portugal gave us the 2 most well attended shows of this part of the tour and in fact the most respectful crowd I have ever played too.

“Still waters in me/ drown the figures in the fire / a last arisen god/ behind the walls of time/ bleeding an ocean/ that rises to the sky”. A serenidade de “Figures” não é demasiado bela, nem demasiado distante, é o que é, e representa o cartão de visita do álbum, a respost certa ao que é necessário ouvir.
Nem muito nem pouco, o tema tem a medida certa e equilibrada e faz bem escutá-la, enquanto vemos as tatuadas mão de Kelly a repousar devagar na sua guitarra. E é hipnótico, de uma forma muito bonita, comprovado em todos os rostos estáticos, no silêncio pesadíssimo da sala do Passos Manuel e na ovação final, que enterneceu Kelly e o levou a afirmar, emocionado, que foi a primeira vez que foi aplaudido de pé.

Viveu-se uma hora e meia de proximidade para com o músico, marcada pela melancolia e entrega de parte a parte, a que ninguém ficou indiferente. A prova disso foi a ovação que recebeu no final do concerto.
