Over a career marked by dozens of solo albums, duo projects, and collaborations, he has worked with artists like Kurt Vile, Ryley Walker, Mdou Moctar, Julianna Barwick, and Mike Cooper, constantly expanding his language without losing his singular voice.
His latest album, Daylight Daylight (2025), is a collection of songs that feel as light as air but carry layers and moods finely crafted. Some tracks explore unexpected textures and subtle harmonies, creating landscapes that slowly ripple and transform, while others are lessons in sustained, tranquil intensity, like the sublime Nearly There. As Pitchfork highlighted, Gunn’s playing “is like handwriting”; each note is marked by detail and intention. He will be performing live at Understage in Porto on May 8.
