Os Oathbreaker provam que é possível encontrar um equilíbrio entre a harmonia e a agressão sem que sejam feitas concessões para qualquer um dos pratos da balança. Com ‘Rheia’, o terceiro disco do colectivo belga, os Oathbreaker continuam o caminho de expansão e reinvenção da sua música, iniciado com a estreia ‘Mælstrøm’ e consolidado com o sucessor ‘Eros|Anteros’, acentuando cada vez mais os contrastes entre a genética punk da banda, a influência do black metal, as ambiências nebulares do shoegaze e a emoção do post-punk. Depois da inesquecível actuação no Amplifest 2016, os Oathbreaker voltam a Portugal para duas datas em nome próprio: a 26 de Novembro no Musicbox, em Lisboa, e a 27 de Novembro no Cave 45, no Porto.
Oathbreaker are the living proof that is possible to find a balancing point between harmony and aggression without making concessions to any of the sides. With ‘Rheia’, the third full.length by the belgian collective, Oathbreaker keep expanding on their path of musical reinvention. After the debut ‘Mælstrøm’ and the successor ‘Eros|Anteros’, ‘Rheia’ shows the band accentuating even more the contrasts between their punk roots, the strong influence of black metal, shoegaze’s nebular atmospheres and post-punk’s raw emotion. After an unforgettable performance at Amplifest 2016, Oathbreaker are now set to return to Portugal for two shows – at Lisbon’s Musicbox on November 26th and in Porto, at Cave 45, on November 27th.

Depois da presença no Amplifest 2015, também James Kelly estará de regresso – acompanhará os Oathbreaker, em ambas as datas, com o seu trabalho a solo como WIFE. O caminho desde o black metal até à música electrónica pode parecer improvável, mas para o também mentor dos Altar of Plagues terá sido uma estrada em linha recta; expansiva, emocional e lasciva, a música de WIFE retém a aura pungente que faz a ponte entre as várias facetas de Kelly. Depois dos amplamente bem recebidos registos ‘Stoic’ e ‘What’s Between’, WIFE apresenta agora o seu mais recente EP ‘Standard Nature’, editado pela Profound Lore.
Also making an anticipated return is the british musician James Kelly, who’ll be supporting Oathbreaker on both dates with his solo act WIFE. The path from black metal to electronic music might not seem like an obvious one, but for Altar of Plagues’ mastermind James Kelly it may have been almost like a straight line. Expansive, emotional and lustful, WIFE’s bass driven pop music still retains a bleak element that can be traced back to Kelly’s past works with Altar of Plagues. After the widely acclaimed records Stoic and What’s Between, WIFE will now be presenting his latest EP Standard Nature, released on Profound Lore.
