Em 2009, a Amplificasom trouxe os This Will Destroy You pela primeira vez a Portugal. Quase duas décadas depois, a banda norte-americana está de regresso para dois concertos: 4 de dezembro na Casa Capitão, em Lisboa, e 5 de dezembro no Mouco, no Porto.
Vindos do Texas, onde se formaram em 2005, os This Will Destroy You tornaram-se uma das referências maiores do post-rock instrumental, cruzando post-rock, ambient e doomgaze em paisagens sonoras expansivas e cinematográficas. A sua música chegou também ao cinema e à televisão, com presença em filmes como Moneyball, World War Z e Foxcatcher, cimentando o seu lugar entre as vozes mais influentes da música instrumental contemporânea.
Em Lisboa e no Porto, a banda vai tocar na íntegra Young Mountain e Another Language, dois dos seus discos fundamentais, lançados em 2006 e 2014, respectivamente. Se no primeiro a música parece viver numa tensão constante, numa ansiedade prestes a explodir, no segundo aprofunda-se uma linguagem difícil de classificar, cruzando diferentes territórios sem que se percebam as costuras.
Dezassete (!) anos depois, os This Will Destroy You estão de volta a Portugal, desta vez para tocar os dois discos do princípio ao fim.

In 2009, Amplificasom brought This Will Destroy You to Portugal for the first time. Almost two decades later, the American band is back for two shows: December 4 at Casa Capitão, in Lisbon, and December 5 at Mouco, in Porto.
Hailing from Texas, where they formed in 2005, This Will Destroy You have become one of the leading names in instrumental post-rock, blending post-rock, ambient and doomgaze into expansive, cinematic soundscapes. Their music has also made its way into film and television, featuring in movies such as Moneyball, World War Z and Foxcatcher, cementing their place among the most influential voices in contemporary instrumental music.
In Lisbon and Porto, the band will perform Young Mountain and Another Language in their entirety, two of their seminal albums, released in 2006 and 2014, respectively. If on the former the music seems to exist in a state of constant tension, an anxiety on the verge of exploding, on the latter a hard-to-classify language is taken further, crossing different territories without the seams showing.
Seventeen (!) years later, This Will Destroy You are back in Portugal, this time to play both albums from beginning to end.
